20 BPA members at FHS place at regional contest

Friendswood High School had 20 Business Professionals of America members place at their regional event January 17. Of those, 18 have qualified for state contest.

First place BPA winners who qualified for State include Shankia Silva in Prepared Speech, Caitlin Pray in Fundamental Desktop Publishing, Audrey O’Neal in Integrated Office Aplications and Eileen Ngo in Fundamental Word Processing Skills.

Kennedy Bateman placed first in Fundamental Keyboarding with Brittany Morgan placing first in Legal Office Procedures.

Two teams received first place in their categories. Neely Acree, Tanna Deckard, Katherine Hude, and Sarah Mai placed first in Professional Management Team category. Kyle Dickens, Nadia Asgari-Tari, Nate Naaykins, and Marina Meche won in Parliamentary Procedure Team contest.

Courtney Castillo placed second in Fundamental Accounting and Chase Falterman placed second in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.

Arjun Gangakhedkar received third place in Medical Office Procedures and Marisa Huerta placed fourth in Payroll Accounting.

All of these students qualified for State and will compete March 4-6 in Dallas.

Also at Regionals,Charmel Royster placed third in Economic Research Individual contest and Clark Callahan placed fifth in Banking and Finance.
