2016 Grand Champion Brangus

Gracie Kempken, a member of the Friendswood FFA Show Cattle Team, recently attended the Texas Junior Brangus Breeders Association State Show in Bryan, Texas.
Gracie entered her 17-month- old Black Brangus heifer to compete with other Texas Brangus owners and breeders. During this annual four day event,
Doodlebug was named the 2016 TJBBA Grand Champion Brangus Female.

Gracie was also awarded first place in the Intermediate Public Speaking and placed in the top six in Intermediate Showmanship.

This was Gracie’s first state show but not her first Grand Champion title. Doodlebug was also named the 2016 Overall Grand Champion Breeding Beef Heifer at the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo in April.

Side note: Gracie’s oldest brother Dakota Kempken owns Annabelle, the Dam (or mother) to Doodlebug. Annabelle was bred to a Sire, owned by Diamond K Show Cattle.
