4 Choir named to All-State Choir

Four Friendswood High School  Choir students successfully auditioned for membership in the Texas All-State Choirs on Saturday, Jan. 11.  The auditions were held at Deer Park High School and included both singing and sight-reading components.
Junior Shelby Allison will be in the All-State Mixed Choir; Allison is a 2-yearAll-State member.
Junior Nattie Wroblewski was selected for the All-State Women’s Choir, and was also named second alternate to the All-State Mixed Choir.
Senior Noelle Kutz and sophomore Gina Baker were also selected as members of the All-State Women’s Choir.
Samantha McHenry, senior, was named first alternate to the All-State Women’s Choir.
The students will perform at the Texas Music Educators Association annual convention, held in San Antonio, on Feb. 15.  In the audition process, 15,000 students begin  the audition process in September; yet,  only 500 are selected for the All-State Choirs following four rounds of auditions.
