On behalf of Friendswood ISD, I would like to publicly thank the FISD Education Foundation for the foresight and care behind the creation of the Harvey Relief Fund to help the district’s employees affected by Hurricane Harvey who have requested financial assistance.
I also want to express our sincere appreciation to all those who have donated. This school district is one of the cornerstones of the community of Friendswood. For this reason, we are grateful for the nearly $83,000 that has been distributed to date to those in need to help get them back on their feet again to be ready serve our students. Donations have come from large corporations, donors that live in this community and all across the country, graduates of FISD, and from random people who have been moved by the way our community has pulled together.
Funds continue to come in, and distribution will continue until the funds are exhausted. Our community continues to rise from the flood through these generous donations and the gifts of time, money, prayers, and the many other acts of servanthood.
We should all stand tall knowing we live in a community that cares for its people and is full of Mustang Pride . . . Unleashed.
