Fifth grade SEARCH students from Bales and Windsong showcased their visual and performing artistic abilities in the Fifth Grade Finale presented May 16 at Windsong Intermediate.
Students shared talents such as playing piano, guitar and recorder; computer programming, photography, construction, painting, singing, magic, and more, according to SEARCH teachers Stacy Mueller and Ann Moetteli.
The Finale was run by the students with two emcees, stagehands, program and banner designers, greeters and servers.
The evening’s experience served a twofold purpose: 1) to showcase the talents of all of the fifth grade SEARCH students and 2) to bring together these fifth graders before they join forces at Friendswood Junior High next year. The event showcased talent from a visual arts and performance-based venue.
This was a student-led evening. Students had the opportunity to audition for jobs as an emcee, stagehand, greeter, server, and program designer.
The event started in the Windsong Literacy Library where students shared the visual arts venue, followed with refreshments and concluded with the performance venue.
