BPA Club at FHS wins medals at regional competition

Business Professionals of America held its regional competition at Alvin Community College recently. The FHS chapter competed and brought home several medals.
Of the medalists, 12 qualified for State and will compete in March.
Shanika Silva won first place in Prepared Speech. The Parliamentary Procedure Team also won first place. The team consists of Dylan Dickens, Kyle Dickens, Kevin Hodge, and Daira Brayley. Dylan Dickens also qualified by winning first in Extemporaneous Speech.
Caitlin Pray qualified for State by placing second in Fundamental Desktop Publishing. Three BPA members qualified with third place wins: Mitchell Santo in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting; Charles Yeager in Payroll Accounting; and Audrey OíNeal in Fundamental Accounting.
Rex Tyler placed fourth in Database Applications and Addison Cobb placed fourth in Banking & Finance. Both qualified for State.
Other BPA members also brought home medals.
Sarah Mai placed fourth in Presentation Management-individual and Charmel Royster placed fourth in Economic Research-individual.
Marisa Huerta placed fifth in Fundamental Word Processing Skills and Tanna Deckard placed sixth in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.
