The following classes are among those currently scheduled for the fall program of adult classes offered by FISD Community Education at Friendswood High School:
College Process & Timeline-How to Get the Most Out of High School for the parents of high school and junior high students who plan to attend college; Conversational Spanish for the business or pleasure traveler, or those who work with Spanish speakers;
Estate Planning for adults of any age who wish to preserve assets for retirement, heirs or incapacity;
Intro to Office Components MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint, a short course emphasizing the upgrades and changes found in Office 2013; and
Long-Term Care Planning for those who wish to prepare for late in life care requirements.
Online classes, in addition to those offered through FISD’s partnership with Education 2 Go, include
Exporting Food as a Small Business for entrepreneurs who want to move their food or beverage business to the next level;
How to Make it in Voice-Overs, Sessions A & B, for students who want to explore ways to break into this field of work;
Import, Export Now, a seminar offering a step-by-step approach to becoming self-employed in the import or export of goods or services; and
Gently’s Defensive Driving, a class designed for busy people that may be started, stopped and finished another day. This course is registered and taken entirely online.
After school group
Tennis classes are offered at the old FISD junior high tennis courts on Woodlawn. Sessions are offered for student ages 6-11 and 12-18 years through mid-December. Additional sessions will begin in late January.
These classes and more begin in October and range in length from one class to nine weeks. All FISD classes listed in the adult brochure are open to students in the greater Friendswood area and surrounding localities.
