FRIENDSWOOD, Texas- Friendswood Independent School District Board of Trustees has been recognized as the board of the year in the region and will now be considered for the top honors at the state level. “The Friendswood ISD Board has provided visionary leadership, working with Superintendent, Trish Hanks, and the FISD team as they ‘Lead to Achieve Excellence’, said Dr. Wells, Region 4 ESC Executive Director. “We congratulate the Friendswood ISD Board of Trustees for this well-deserved award and wish them well as they join the prestigious group of school boards who were nominated for state Outstanding School Board.”
The Region IV Education Service Center serves a seven-county area composed of 50 public school districts and 41 open-enrollment charter schools.
The annual statewide search for the Texas Honor Board is organized by the Texas Association of School Administrators. The criteria for consideration is lengthy with topics ranging from educational vision and fiscal management to community involvement and personal commitment to duty.
“This board exudes the best of what is good about public education and will represent Region IV well,” said Trish Hanks, Superintendent of Schools. “Our Trustees have special servant leadership qualities and we are excited about this opportunity to share the remarkable things they have done for FISD.”
The Friendswood Independent School District Board of Trustees is one of 20 honorees in Texas. The Texas Association of School Administrators will name the state’s Outstanding Board in September.
