FHS’ Math Department wins Chili Cookoff celebrating CTE month

To celebrate Career Technology Education (CTE) month at Friendswood High School, a Friendswood High School Department Chili Cook-Off that was hosted by CTE under the direction of Executive Director Debbie Woodson.
Each department cooked two pots of chili. Tables were decorated around each entryís theme and name and set up in the Culinary Arts kitchen.
Judges included Deputy Superintendent Thad Roher, Assistant Superintendent Lynn Hobratschk, Superintendent Trish Hanks, Senior Executive Director of Secondary Curriculum Diane Myers, Friendswood Junior High Principal Dana Drew, and Executive Director of Human Resources Jan Scogin.
First place was given to the Math Department, second place was Special Education, and third place was the English Department.
The first place winner got a trophy and will get a free dessert from Culinary Arts Cafe Blue and second and third place received ribbons.
“It was a lot of fun and a great way to bring the staff together and celebrate CTE month!” Woodson said.
