FHS Freshman class plans fundraisers for the year


The Class of 2017 has severalupcoming fundraisers to help raise money for the Prom and other classfunctions.  Each year the studentsmust raise an average of $12,000 as they prepare for their senior year.

The Freshmen Class Officersare Morgan Evans, President; Elaina Roher, Vice President; Cade Roenne,Treasurer; and Catherine Evans, Secretary.

Their primary responsibilityis to work with all class members to raise money.  The Freshmen Class has a limited number of fundraisers andthey need community support to make fundraising efforts a success.

The Class of 2017’s fallfundraisers include a tee shirt sale, pregame Italian Dinner and silentauction.

The tee shirt sale took placeAugust 19 at Copy Dr. where the freshmen hosted a drive through tee shirt sale. All freshmen are asked to wear theirnew shirts at Fish Camp August 21. The first 25 people who drove through thesale to get shirts also received coupons for a free Route 44 Sonic drink.

The Class of 2017 will hostan Italian dinner at FHS’ first home game against Alvin, August 30 from 5 –6:30 p.m. The dinner, catered by the recently opened Gina’s Italian Restaurantin Friendswood, cost $10 per ticket or $5 per ticket for children.  Each ticket buys  spaghetti or fettuccini Alfredo, salad,bread, dessert and a drink.  As abonus diners will also get a coupon for a free dessert or appetizer to use thenext time they visit Gina’s.

Tickets will be for sale the first week of school in the FHS cafeteria during lunch.

There will be many availableitems to bid on at the Pregame Dinner through the Class hosted SilentAuction.  Auction items includemultiple sets of Texans tickets including 4 on the Club Level, tickets, Boat/RVstorage, Homecoming basket, cheerleading basket, babysitter basket, giftcards/baskets for many local businesses and gift cards for many localrestaurants.
