Candise Tat, a senior at Friendswood High School has received a perfect score of 36 in the ACT test she took in April, according to her parents Anh and Dung Tat of Friendswood.
This is a rare feat for test-takers.
Out of 1,845,787 ACT tests taken in 2014, for example, the average composite score was 21 out of 36. Testers who scored 33 and up belonged to the 99th percentile, the top 1%.
A perfect 36 is the rarest of all. Just 0.076% of all test-takers in that year earned a perfect score.
