Friendswood ISD has partnered with Engage2Learn (e2L), an approved Texas Education Agency (TEA) blended learning provider, to put a new strategic plan in place for the 2018-2023 school years. This strategic plan will be the framework for the decisions made by FISD for the next five years. In recognition of the importance of the strategic plan, Friendswood ISD would like to invite the community to attend an education summit on Aug. 27 in the FISD Boardroom. There will be two summits held; one will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the other will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The same information will be covered in both meetings.
The education summits will provide an opportunity for all community members to learn about the strategic design process, share their highest hopes for their community’s children and discuss the future of education in FISD.
The summit will be the first step in the nearly seven-week-long process FISD and e2L will be going through in order to create the most effective strategic plan for the future of FISD students. Once the community’s input is heard and discussed at the summits, e2L will be able to begin extensive planning with FISD administrators and selected focus groups.
Once the group has a strategic plan in place, it will submit its proposal to the Board of Trustees on Nov. 12, 2018. The Board will then discuss and vote upon implementing the proposed plan.
If community members are unable to attend the summits, they can still submit their input by participating in a survey that will be available to the Friendswood community on Aug. 27. The survey will be located on the front page of myfisd.com and will remain open for two weeks. On Sept. 10, the survey will be closed and all opinions will be considered by the focus groups, FISD administrators and e2L.
