The South Texas Chapter of the hosted their Annual Student Paper Presentation at Texas A&M University on April 16, 2016. FHS Sophomore, Andrew Cianciolo, presented his science fair research on the ability of eyeglass lenses to block harmful UV radiation at the meeting. He was invited to present to the members of the Society after he won the HPS Award at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston in February. Andrew has also been nominated to present at the National Convention in Washington this summer. One primary goal of the Health Physics Society is aiding in research, education, and financial assistance opportunities for students in the fields of health physics and radiation protection. Andrew is a student of Theresa Lawrence.
