Houston Young Inventors’ Showcase

On Saturday, May 21, 2016, the top school winners gathered at University of Houston’s Main Campus for the Young Inventors’ Showcase.

Students were grouped by grade levels to share their inventions with a set of judges. Windsong Intermediate sent Ellie Wiseman with her “Cedar Sweeper”, a device to help clean hamster cages. Molly Fruehan participated with her “Crutch ‘in It.” Molly’s crutch bags came to mind as she witnessed so many students on crutches and juggling backpacks, folders, lunch kits, etc. James Saul represented Windsong with his “Supa’ Snorkel”, a mobile device that would allow a younger child to dive to greater depths without needing to be scuba certified. Molly Fruehan was awarded Second Place in the Fourth Grade division of the Young Inventors for Houston. Congratulations, Molly, and all who participated.
