Student council delivers 1,700 gifts to hospital

The Friendswood Junior High Student Council along with sponsor Kimberly Hall traveled to Shriners Hospital on December 13, to deliver the toy drive donations, collected over the last two weeks. The students delivered 1,700 presents to Shriners’ patients in the Houston Medical Center.

"To me, it’s always a joy watching our students in action, especially as they learn about the precious gifts of stewardship and philanthropy," said Hall.

While at Shriners, the students learned about the free treatment and services given to all patients regardless of the families’ ability to pay.

The students had the opportunity to meet three patients, ages 3, 10, and 16. The toys from Student Council were a welcome sight to the children.

“I am truly impressed by Mrs. Hall and her FJH Student Council,” said Sheridan Truss, FISD parent. “It was amazing to see Mrs. Hall motivate and inspire the 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students to give their hearts to the toy drive which has had an immeasurable effect on many lives.”
