find the southwest region, and vote for Friendswood High School. The five finalists will head to Los Angeles, CA in June for the final event where a panel of celebrity judges will determine the grand prize winner of the $50,000 donation.
Vans Custom Culture was created to inspire and empower high school students through creative expression while calling attention to the shrinking funds dedicated to art education programs. Earlier this year, 3,000 high schools across the country registered to compete. As part of the competition, each participating school created four unique designs to represent the Vans “Off the Wall” lifestyle using iconic Vans shoes such as the Authentic, Classic Slip-On, 106 Vulcanized and Sk8-Hi as their canvases. Utilizing various artistic mediums to showcase their work, Friendswood High School students crafted their submissions by pulling inspiration from action sports, art, music and Space exploration to emphasize “Local Flavor” of Houston.
FHS students have worked hard to get this far and appreciate your daily Vote to get them to LA and $50,000 for their art department!
