Varsity Tennis 1-0 in district play

Friendswood High School’s Varsity Tennis team is 1-0 in district play following

their first district match for the new 6A district. Mustangs faced Brazoswood at FHS

tennis courts, September 5.

FHS defeated the Brazoswood team by a final score of 18-1. The Mustangs

swept all of the doubles matches, and won all but the number 1 boys singles match,

where Andrew Weaver of Brazoswood was able to hold off Kishan Patel 6-4, 6-3.

By winning the other 18 matches, the Friendswood varsity team ran its overall

record to 4 wins and 2 losses, and 1-0 in district play.

The Mustangs will have this week off from district play to make room for the
Remembering Hurricane Ike tournament in Galveston on Friday and Saturday.
When district matches resume, Friendswood will host last year’s champion from
District 24-5A (now 24-6A) Clear Creek on Tuesday, September 16 at 3 pm.
