WWB kids give to soldiers for the holidays, Get rewarded with Skyped visit from Afghanistan

Soldier3Westwood-Bales Elementary recently adopted 16 active-duty soldiers who will be away from home for the holidays and treated them to care packages of homemade goodness and love.

Students wrote notes and drew pictures that Student Council members worked to package with baked goods to thank them for their service and sacrifice.

The postage for the 40 boxes that were shipped was covered by the Friendswood Rotary and the WB family.

On Monday, December 2, the project came full circle when students watched as two soldiers Skyped in from Afghanistan to open their boxes in front of them on the big screen before school.
