Crazy outfits, creative ideas and lots of fun are all part of getting prepared for competition in Destination Imagination or DI. At Westwood Bales 37 students in second through fifth grades are part of six teams under the direction of Coach Stacy Mueller.
Mueller has been involved in DI for approximately 10 years and is in her fifth year working with students in DI at WWB campus.
The teams recently practiced and performed for each other and parents at Westwood Bales to prepare for competition.
The Gulf Coast regional competition is in February each year. It is usually in Katy, according to Mueller. This year it will be held Feb. 15 at Cy-Ranch High School. Most teamswith which WWB teams compete are from Cy-Fair, Fort Bend and Katy ISD. Alvin ISD, private and charter school students also participate.
WWB has about 7 students on each team.
