Purpose: In conjunction with the Christus St. John Concussion Center, To evaluate the cognitive abilities (e.g., memory, reaction time, attention) of athletes involved in sports using ImPACT, a test taken on the computer. ImPACT takes 25 minutes and provides information concerning one’s cognitive abilities and daily symptoms before a concussion occurs. This is considered a baseline test. If a concussion is suspected, then a follow-up test can be administered to see if scores have changed from the baseline test. This information can help to objectively determine when it is safe to return to sport competition.
