Swimmers Break Team and Pool Records At Dual Meet

Friendswood High School swimmers and divers were very impressive in their dual meet against Richmond George Ranch on Thursday, December 5, 2013.  The Lady Mustangs won 11 out of the 12 events winning the dual meet with 189 points to George Ranch’s 125 points.  The Mustangs also showed how strong they were by winning ALL of the boy’s events.  The Friendswood boys won the meet with a total of 188 points to George Ranch’s 126 points.

During the competition two FISD pool records and one Mustang team record were broken by Friendswood swimmers.  Jack Maloy, Daniel Theall, Justin Bertelsman and Matt Wall set a new pool record for the 200 Yard Medley Relay and then later in the meet they set a new pool record and team record for the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who finished the evening with four first places by placing first in both of their individual events and swimming on two winning relays:  Sydney Gurry, Cassie Nagle, Sadie Wilson, Jack Maloy and Matt Wall.  Congratulations to Jonathan Nguyen who also won both of his individual events.

Friendswood divers Rachel Wright and Trey Hamby both finished first in the 1 meter springboard events.

The Friendswood swimming and diving teams compete next in the Mustang Holiday Splash Swimming and Diving Invitational on December 13th and 14th.
