Choir to present pre-UIL Spring Concert

The Friendswood HS Choirs will present a pre-UIL Spring Concert on Thursday, April 3, at 7 pm in the FHS Auditorium.  All five performing choirs will present three selections that have been prepared for the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest, to be held at the Clarion Center, Brazosport College, in Lake Jackson on April 10.  In addition, the Campus Singers will present a sightreading demonstration for the audience.

The five performing choirs at Friendswood encompass all four grade levels.  The varsity choirs include the Campus Singers and the Ensembelles; non-varisty choirs are the Treble Choir, Concert Men’s Choir and Varsity Women’s Choir.  Works to be performed include In Monte Oliveti by Giovanni Martini, Deo Gracias by Benjamin Britten, Laetatus Sum by Johann Michael Haydn, Laudate Pueri Dominum by Felix Mendelssohn, and contemporary folksong arrangements:  Loch Lomond; Oh, Shenandoah; Canto del Agua; and Yo Le Canto Todo El Dia.

The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
