Emily-Dundee-Rodeo-ArtEmily Dundee was one of our Rodeo Art winners and was awarded a Special Merit, for her outstanding drawing of a longhorn.  Her artwork was exhibited in the Reliant Center for the duration of the rodeo, along with our other district winners.

Emily applied for an interview for The Western Art Academy, and was chosen out of hundreds of applicants.  The Western Art Academy includes four weeks of art instruction, housing, meals and social interaction with other art students from neighboring districts.

This is a huge opportunity for Emily.  Her art instruction will include lessons in oil paintng and sculpture, which will offer her new learning experiences in art.  Emily plans to pursue Advanced Placement Studio Art and is planning on submitting two portfolios next year.

The Friendswood Art Department is very proud of her accomplishments and we look forward to the pleasure of having her as one of our top art students next year.
