FHS students honored at April School Boarding meeting

BPAStudents who excelled at the Business Professionals of America State competition were recognized at the April FISD Board meeting by Trustee Tony Hopkins (right). Two students advanced to the National competition. Mitchell Santo advanced to State competition in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting. Shanika Silva won second place  in Prepared Speech and advances to Nationals in Indianapolis in May. Not pictured are Caitlin Pray who also advances to nationals, Charles Yeager, Audrey O’Neal, Rex Tyler, Brittany Morgan, and Addison Cobb.

DECAFISD Trustee Mike Shaw (right) recognized the students who attended the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) State Career Development Conference at the April Board meeting.

Emily-DundeeFHS student Emily Dundee was chosen out of hundreds of applicants to attend the Western Art Academy, which includes four weeks of art instruction, housing, meals and interaction with other art students from neighboring districts. Dundee was honored by FISD Trustee Ralph Hobratschk at the April Board meeting.

TSAFISD Trustee Robert McCabe presents “Celebration of Excellence” certificates to the 22 Technology Students of America  who placed at the State Competition in mid-April.

Brooke-RegianBrooke Regian, winner of the “Best of Texas” award and an $800 scholarship from the Texas Career Technology Council, is recognized by FISD Trustee Dr. Matt Robinson at the April Board Meeting.

HOSAAt the state Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) competition, FISD was represented by 21 students. Ten earned first place awards and ten earned second place and were recognized by FISD Trustee Dr. David Montz at the April Board Meeting.
