FHS Tennis Team to host 48 Hour Marathon challenging community players

danFHS Athletics, High School News

Team-TennisWhile soccer took up televised space June and July, the sport of August in Friendswood is definitely TENNIS.

YOU are invited to join the Friendswood High School Tennis Team members in their 48-Hour Tennis Marathon August 15,16 and 17 at the Friendswood High School tennis courts. The continuous event will begin at 4 pm on Friday and end at 4 pm on Sunday.

It’s not just for fun or to see if they can do it, it’s actually what they hope to see as a successful fundraiser, providing what the team will need to have successful fall and spring seasons in 2014-2015 school year. This would include travel expenses, equipment and uniforms.

The team held this two years ago.

“It was great fun and the community members were of all ages who came out to play one of our members. Both sides had great times,” Coach David Cook said. ”We encourage everyone who enjoys tennis to come out, make a donation and have a great time challenging the team to a game.”

Bring your racquet and cash for donating. Drinks and snacks will be sold. A Silent Auction will be held during the Marathon.
