9 athletes sign letters of intent on National Signing Day Feb. 5 in FISD
Nine Friendswood High School athletes signed letters of intent on National Signing Day Feb. 5 on campus. The nine consist of (sitting) Jacob Gwynne (baseball at Concordia University), Carter Gwynne (baseball at Ranger Junior College), Sarah Redding (volleyball at Texas Tech University) , Dylan Waugaman (soccer at Oregon State University), (Standing) Ryan Shetter (baseball at Texas Tech University), Connor Cross (football at Harding University in Arkansas), Jesse Brewster (football at Lamar University), Sean White (football at Columbia in NYC), and Christian Robinson (football at Blinn College). Joining them were Athletic Director Robert Koopmann and FHS Principal Mark Griffon.

VolleyballSarah Redding,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play  Volleyball for Texas Tech University. While at FHS, she was a member of National Honor Society, FCCLA, Safe School Ambassadors, Young Life and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). She was on the 4A State All-Tournament Team, Lonestar Volleyball Outstanding Hitter-HM/All State Team 3, Kingwood Varsity Tournament All-Tournament Team, and VYPE/GHVCA Pre-season Team/Post Season. Redding was 24-4A 1st Team All-District, 1st Team 4A All-Galveston County, Offensive Player of the Year 14-6A, 2nd Team 6A All-Galveston County, GHVCA All-Star and Texas Sports Writer’s Association 6A Honorable Mention Team. She was Texas Girls’ Coaches Association All-State Team and All Star, and recipient of the NRG/Houston Texans’ Scholarship of Champions. She was joined at the signing by her parents, Kristen and David Redding and brother Ben.

Boys-SoccerDylan Waugaman,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Oregon State University. At FHS he was 2014 Team MVP, District MVP, 1st Team All District, TASCO 1st Team All Region, and TASCO 2nd Team All State. He as a member of the National Honor Society and worked with TOPS coaching soccer with physically handicapped children. Along with high school soccer, he also played Club Soccer and football. He is joined at the signing by his parents, Kathy and Doug Waugaman and Coach Stephen Peter.

 

 

Carter Gwynne,
Baseball-CarterGwynneFriendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Ranger Junior College. At FHS, he was a member of Young Life.
He was joined at the signing by his parents Karen and Geoff Gwynne and Coach Charlie Taylor.

Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Concordia University. At FHS, he was a member of Young Life and PALS. He was joined at the signing by his parents Karen and Geoff Gwynne and Coach Charlie Taylor.

 

 

Baseball-RyanShetterRyan Shetter,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Texas Tech University. At FHS, he was Most Valuable Defensive Player of District, 1st Team All District Pitcher, and All Galveston County. He was joined at the signing by his parents Delynn and Randy Shetter, sister Tiffany, and Coaches Jeff Havens and Charlie Taylor.

 

Football-BrewsterJesse Brewster,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play football for Lamar University. At FHS, he was a member of PALS group and played football. He was an All District player as well as All Galveston County.
He was joined at the signing by his parents Janet and Ray Brewster, his sister Ana-Claire and Athletic Director Robert Koopmann.

 

 

Football-CrossConnor Cross,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play football for Harding University in Arkansas. At FHS, he was a member of the National Honor Society and Best Friends Club. He was an All District player as well as All Galveston County. He was joined at the signing by his parents Elaine and Terry Cross, his sister, freshman Kendall Cross and Athletic Director Robert Koopmann.

 

Football-RobinsonChristian Robinson,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play football for Blinn College. At FHS, he was in the Chess Club and the Ping Pong Club. He was an All District player as well as All Galveston County. He was joined at the signing by his parents Robin and Del Robinson, his sister Madison and Athletic Director Robert Koopmann.

 

 

Football-WhiteSean White,
Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play football for Columbia University in New York. At FHS, he not only played football but also ran track and played lacrosse. He was an All District player as well as All Galveston County. He was joined at the signing by his parents Coleen and Thomas White, his sister Jillian and Athletic Director Robert Koopmann.
