Academic Decathlon wins 3rd in state

TexasAcademicDecathlonThe FHS team placed third overall in their first time in the large school competition in San Antonio on February 28-March 1, 2015.

This was a very close competition. A perfect score would be 60000 and each question is worth 20 points. Our team increased their regional score by 1100 points, but we failed short of our goal. We are very proud of their efforts.
We won 23 individual medals.

Friendswood High School Academic Decathlon placed 3rd in a close race with Pearland and Highland Park at the state Large school competition with only 300 points separating the three teams. Friendswood scored 49, 974 out of 60000 which is the highest score any team from Friendswood has ever posted at state. For their third place at state, each member will receive 500 dollars each.
