In 1992-94, FHS had an all school lunch one hour each day. FHS did not have a cafeteria and students ate in the Freshmen and Senior malls. It was a great time to have club meetings.
The Thespian Officers decided to host “lunch box’’ theatre for 20 minutes each Friday. The Thespians charged .50 and they started doing skits. The skits evolved into Improv shows that lasted 20 minutes.
This show evolved into FHS Comedy Cabaret. FHS Theatre presented Comedy Cabaret each September and then each January at the Texas Educational Theatre Association State conference for the next 19 years.
FHS Improv troupe has been the training ground and launched the careers of four Houston Funniest Comics, Austin’s Funniest Comic.
