The Friendswood High School Lady Mustangs Lacrosse Team competed in the Cy-Fair Burning Flower Lacrosse Classic over the holidays taking 3rd Place in their bracket and 4th Place overall. The tournament brought teams from all over Texas and honors the memory of lacrosse player Julia Briggs. Tournament participants brought stuffed animals to be donated to agencies that help children who are victims of or who are impacted by crime. During the two-day Classic, several hundred stuffed animals were collected and donated to the Houston Police Department and Child Advocates.
The Lady Mustangs will complete in the Aggieland Classic at Texas A & M University Feb. 6-7. The Junior Varsity team begins its regular season with a game at St. Pius Feb. 23. The Varsity team’s season opener will be played at Houston Christian on Feb. 25.
The Lady Mustangs Lacrosse Teams will hold a BBQ plate fundraiser Saturday, Jan. 30, 11:00 am-12:30 pm at the Friendswood Lacrosse Center located at 402 Laurel Dr. The community is welcome and encouraged to purchase advanced meal tickets.
