Girls Soccer Team Brings home 2nd Place

The Varsity Girls soccer team brought home 2nd place from the Brazos Valley Cup this past weekend, finishing the tournament with a 3-1 record, to push their overall record to 5-2.

In game 1, they beat Cedar Creek from Bastrop 8-0.  Reid Kohls led the scoring with 2 goals, Cami Rue scored a goal and had 3 assists, Kori Schimming and Selina Vickery each had a goal and an assist, Erin Kaltenbaugh, Klaryssa Heussmann, and Yosi Bouslog each added a goal, Tink Castillo had 2 assists and Lexi Hudson had an assist.  Kenzie Weddel recorded the shutout in goal.

In game 2, they beat Lucas Lovejoy 1-0.  Reid Kohls scored the goal, Kori Schimming had the assist, and Klaryssa Heussmann had the shutout in goal.

In game 3, they beat Burleson 4-0.  Selina Vickery had 2 goals, Tink Castillo had a goal and an assist, Reid Kohls had a goal, and Kori Schimming and Cami Rue each had an assist.  Kenzie Weddel had the shutout in goal.

In the championship game, they lost to a very strong Woodlands team 0-4 to bring home the second place trophy.  Reid Kohls and Erin Kaltenbaugh earned All Tournament Honors.

Our next game is at home this Friday against Baytown Sterling at 7:00 and then we start district play the next Friday here at home vs Clear Falls at 7:00.  Please come out and support the girls!
