FHS UIL One Act Play The Grapes of Wrath advanced to the Regional UIL One Act Play contest Saturday, April 9, 2016.

In a very good day of performances by 6 schools FHS came out on top and will compete at Regionals on Saturday April 23 at San Jacinto College Central Campus.

Friendswood took home the honors of:
Best Actress  – Senior Madeline Rhew
Best Actor –  Senior Bodie Lowe
Honorable Mention All Star Cast – Senior  Francis Sandridge
Best Tech was indeed earned by Meredith Fraga who saved the show when the site crew’s light board overheated and malfunctioned.  Meredith ran the 40 + cues manually.
From the banjos to the scorched look of the set the judges were amazed by the ensemble and the vocal execution of the actors.

The play , SF The Grapes of Wrath is directed by Kathy Powdrell.

Many thanks to Mark Griffon, Amy Thornton, Pepper Smith and our student supporters who turned out to support us at this very difficult contest.
