The FHS Choir Banquet, held on Tuesday, May 24 at the Bay Oaks Country Club, recognized outstanding accomplishments by students in the program throughout the school year.
The National School Choral Award for students most dedicated to the choral program was presented to Gina Baker and Nathan Drake. This student-selected award also considers qualities of leadership, musicianship and participation.
The TMEA Music Scholar Award, given to students who have exhibited outstanding qualities in scholastic merit, musicianship and citizenship in their school and community during the 2015-16 school year was presented to: Yarden Borshevsky-Barr, Marcus Fetty, Meranda Goodwin, Helena Haas, Kylee Hill, Connor Krusleski, Lauren Kutz, Zachary Maiberger, Dante Marcuccio, Skylar McHenry, Emily Mesa, Madeline Pertuis, Hannah Schroeder, Johanna Twyford and Emma Wimberly.
Achievement Awards were given to the following:

Concert Men – Kyle Dickens
Varsity Women – Miranda Hughes

Varsity Women – Emily Ulsh
Treble Choir – Maddy Walker
Service Awards were given to Maddie Ballard, Brian Chew, Marcus Fetty, Lauren Kutz, Skylar McHenry, Brie Sharp, Lexi Sherer and Bailee Whitmarsh.
The Most Outstanding students, determined by individual achievement over the year, are:

Sophomore – Jamie Laurents and Christian Mathews
Junior – Kylee Hill
Senior – Gina Baker
Seniors Gina Baker and Connor Krusleski were awarded FHS Choir Booster Club scholarships; both will be majoring in music in the fall. Gina will attend the University of Houston; Connor will be at the University of Texas-Austin.
Outgoing Booster Club officers were also recognized for their service to the FHS Choirs: Carol Chew, Reata Baker, Roseann Drake and Mandy Goodwin.
