Five athletes and two booster supporters were inducted Friday, September 2, into the 2016 Athletic Hall of Honor at Friendswood High School. The inductees were athletes spanning from 1998-2005.
Kenny Black graduated in 1995 and was introduced by Friendswood Alumnus and Ex- Head Baseball Coach Charlie Taylor. Black was an outstanding four- year letterman in Basketball, Baseball, Football and Track.
Emily Allen and Johnna Moody, 1998 FHS Graduates, were all-district, all-region and all-state tennis players and 4 -year Varsity District Champions. Both lady athletes were introduced by their Varsity tennis Coach Eric LeBlanc.
Elliot Barcak, Class of 2003, was unable to attend and was represented by his parents Don and Lisa Barcak. Trustee and Voice of the Mustangs, Tony Hopkins
recounted Barcak’s accomplishments in Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track.
Jeremy Ellis graduated in 2005. Ellis was the youngest inductee and recognized by Head Girls and Boys Cross-Country Coach Steve Haffelder. Ellis lettered four years in both cross-country and track earning all-state honors for cross-country his junior and senior years.
Clayton Stephens and his late wife, Jackie were recognized for their service and contribution to the Athletic Booster club by fellow booster member Jackie Scott. The Stephens’ were part of the original Booster Board.
Their accomplishments are posted in the Hall of Honor in the Walter D. Wilson Field House. The Hall of Honor has been recognizing and honoring athletes, coaches, and community fans since 2002. The hall is near the athletic director’s office.
The new inductees were also introduced to the crowd in the stands before the football game Friday night.
