Quick Draw is a part of the School Art program connected to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. Students are selected from figure drawings by art students, sent in through their schools.

A limited number of winning students, about 50, are invited to NRG Center to draw from real life for 50 minutes. Anna Chen was awarded First place and received $750 for her drawing. This was extremely tough competition that includes Houston and the surrounding area.

Congratulations to Anna for her dedication and competitive work ethic! Her drawing will be exhibited along with other rodeo art winners in the Hayloft Gallery for the duration of the rodeo. This is huge!

The applicant’s sketching time was limited to 50 minutes, as this is the maximum amount of time given to sketch at the contest.

FHS Art Teachers are Jan Nemitz, Mary Giles and Mandy Harris.
