To provide bus transportation for students efficiently, the FISD Transportation Department requests parents allow two weeks of school to be underway to get routes settled, new routes to become routine and new stops to be fine tuned. Coppinger YMCA in Pearland supplied FISD with 100-plus backpacks filled with school supplies to give to students with supply needs. YMCA reps Mark Bordelon, Roxie Patton and Tonni Vale delivered the backpacks to the Administration building where counselors from FISD schools stopped by to pick up what their campus needed. In May, Friendswood Mustangs Booster Club (FMBC) awarded $7,000 in scholarships to 14 FHS Senior athletes.
