3 Color Guard groups compete, place at contest
Friendswood ISD had three Color Guard groups compete successfully at the
Magnolia High School Color Guard contest March 7.
The FHS Varsity Team placed third with their show, Bell-issimo. This show
featured an 8 foot bell and hand-bell performances in sequence with their other
equipment. The Varsity Team will be competing in the Color Guard World
Championships in Dayton, Ohio in April.
The Junior High Color Guard placed first. Their show, Wind, features a wind-
sock that converts to a flag and a breathtaking flag feature, according to Color Guard
Director Ron Barnett.
The JV team placed second with their show, Triangulation. This show
features hollow triangles in which the girls perform in and around, adding to their
theme.
The groups hosted their annual Friends and Family Night in the FHS Boys
Gym March 10.
Varsity members include Emilee Clyburn, Riki Ellard, Makenzie Finch,
Meghan Gilbert, Angela Goddard, Bailey Harris, Mackenzie Harris, Nathalie
Heimeyer, Courtney Huning, Shelby Jones, Holly McGowan, Natalie Pitts, Melissa
Puebla, Kellee Ramirez, Shelby Rich, Mitchell Stilwell, and Alissa Williams. Varsity
captains include Emilee Clyburn, Meghan Gilbert, and Melissa Puebla.
JV team members include Brianna Bordelon, Kailey Couillard, Hailey Dugan,
Samantha Fiehn, Anna Gibson, Hannah Gilbert, Lauren Guess, Jalisa Hernandez,
Morgan Higgins, Katie Johnson, Aleah Thomas, and Ava Treon.
FJH members include Claire Clauson, Sophie Clement, Julia Curry, Pir’Chaih
Dickerson, Abigail Faircloth, Jada Foster, Ashely Garcia, Grace Gilbert, Madison
Hartung, Amya Henry, Madeline Hill, Julia Kelly, Jessica Kuipers, Ashton Mabe,
Bailey McDaniel, Megan Mecham, Madelynn Morse, Jordan Payne, Regan Payne,
Grace Sebesta, Karsen Spencer, Zoe Stillwell, Stephanie Troutt, Emily Warren,
Destinee Woodburn, and Rainey Worrell.
