Cline Elementary first-grader Max Nieto and Windsong Intermediate fourth-grader Roman Nieto III have been working with their parents Dr. Roman Nieto and Dr. Crystal Nieto to make protective face shields for healthcare providers. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed as KPRC produced a story over the family on the evening of Thursday, April 2.
Max’s teacher Chelsea Herrera said she is not surprised by the thoughtfulness of her student.
“He is such a thoughtful child who truly wants to better this world,” Herrera said. “He’s proof that even our young learners can do big and great things.”
Windsong SEARCH teacher Ann Moetelli said the same of Roman.
“I love it,” she said. “They worked with their dad using hardware supplies to create face masks. It’s very impressive.”
FISD is very proud of Max and Roman and believes their efforts have truly come #OutOfTheBlue
