Carpe Diem, usually translated as “seize the day” was selected as the Class Motto for the graduating Class of 2016 in Friendswood ISD.
The Class of 533 graduates walked the stage of the Don Coleman Community Coliseum in Spring Branch Saturday, June 4.
The Class Colors are blue and white with the blue hydrangea as the Class Flower. Class Song is Time of Our Lives by Tyrone Wells.
Valedictorian is Candise Tat with Salutatorian Mia Purdom.
Class officers include President Skylar McHenry, Vice President Meranda Goodwin, Secretary Summer Bockart and Treasurer Matthew Skinner.
Seniors were offered approximately $11 million in scholarship funds.
Newsweek and US News ranked Friendswood High School in the Top 1% of higher performing schools nationwide based on SAT/ACT scores and state standardized testing results.
Five graduating seniors receive a standing ovation from the crowd as they are recognized for embarking on a path of duty through military service following their high school career. Congratulations to Kevin Dupuis, Kevin Lu, Brittany Morgan, Caitlin Pray and Kaitlyn Stafford.
