FHS Theatre Dept. presents "Peter Pan"

Print Sign ProjectPeter Pan, by JM Barrie, flies into Friendswood High School Theatre: October 11, 16 and 18 at 7 pm and October 12 and 19 at 2:30 pm. The play will be performed in the Myrlene Kennedy Auditorium – Tickets are $10 at the door.

The production will include the large scale technical aspects from making Peter and the Darling children fly to a dynamic cast suited to perform as the iconic characters.

FHS is working with ZFX Flying to provide a state of the art experience for the FHS performers, crew and audiences. Technical theatre students will also integrate video, laser and robotic technology into the performances.

The lead actors playing Hook and Peter have been working on stage combat. Students and parents under the direction of parent, Peter Clark have built a replica of Hook’s ship, The Jolly Roger. Parent volunteers, Kevin Tones and Cliff Gaspard have worked with students to build a crocodile puppet.

True to the classic plot of Peter Pan, Director Powdrell and senior production students have worked to bring the script to life.

Peter-Pan-Captain-HookA fantastic quest awaits the audience as Wendy and her brothers travel with Peter Pan, the hero of their stories. He whisks them away to the magical world of Neverland.

After following Peter and his feisty sidekick Tinker Bell past “the second star to the right  and straight on till morning,” they explore the island and Peter’s secret hideout with the rambunctious Lost Boys and leap into high-flying battles with swashbuckling pirates and the infamous Captain Hook!

Leading the Cast is senior Caleb Petty as Peter Pan, senior Audrey McKee as Wendy, senior Jon Yawn as Hook and senior Jana Landers as Tink.

Other cast members are Cade Tucker as Mr. Darling, Natalie Wroblewski as Mrs. Darling, Travis Schlicht as Michael Darling, John McHenry as John Darling, Frances Sandridge as Nana, Kirsten Hill as Liza, Lucinda Culver as the Never Bird, Conner Henry as Smee, Alex Rudd as Slightly, Lost boys include Nathan Drake, Jeremy Gretzer, Brian Chew, with Pirates: Owen O’Neill, Justin Dorrell, and Connor Krusleski. The total cast numbers 83.

The Technical Crew is lead by Juniors Brian Cianciolo and Sarah Jacobson. The crew consists of 35 students plus which makes this one of the largest groups on campus.
