Two Friendswood High School seniors, Madelyn Warren and Nicole Bluth competed at the UIL 6A CX Debate meet in Austin March 20.

Warren is the first Friendswood HS student to ever advance to a state championship in two different debate formats in the same year. She advanced to the TFA State meet in Public Forum Debate and the UIL State meet in CX Debate.

“This is a very rare accomplishment,” Coach Cheryl Ryne said.

At the state meet, UIL representatives announced the Top Five Schools with the most UIL CX Debate State Championships going back to 1911. Friendswood High School was tied for fifth place overall with six CX State Debate Championships.
