Friendswood High School Wranglerettes were just named State Champions.
The Team competed in the Crowd Pleasers State Championships recently and won first place in all five team categories: Hip Hop, Jazz, Kick, Lyrical and Pom, which received highest scoring Pom routine of the day.
The team also received special recognition honors for outstanding technique, choreography, showmanship, audience appeal, and artistry.
The Dance and Social Officers also won first place in all four categories and were named State Champions.
Soloist, Courtney Banfield, won 1st place in 9-10 grade solo, Haley Weger took 5th place in 11th grade solo and Stephanie Reynolds was named Semi-Finalist.
The Illusion Ensemble took third place in the Ensemble category while the Social Officers received second place.
“We are beyond proud of these girls. With setbacks out of their control, they managed to change formations, relearn new parts all in a weeks time and still come out as State Champions!” Director Alyssa Falcone said.
The Wranglerettes have a busy few months ahead. They leave for Nationals and will compete over spring break to hopefully bring home their 18th National Title since 1995.
On April 23, they will host their Junior Dance Clinic and Advanced Dance Intensive. Finally, the team will conclude their season, April 29- May 1, with their Annual Spring Show.
