It’s Red Ribbon Week in FISD

Red Ribbon Week is October 24-28 and Friendswood ISD is celebrating at each of their six campuses.

The annual event offers a time of drug awareness and an opportunity for students to pledge to be drug free.

At Cline Elementary, We ELECT to be Drug Free is the theme for the week. Monday the students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue; Tuesday, I Choose to have a Bright Future Drug Free! Wear “bright” colors; Wednesday will be Wild Hair Wednesday; Thursday the students will stop and read a book for 15 minutes for I ELECT to Read a Book instead of doing drugs and Friday is Say BOO to Drugs. Students can wear a costume or a character shirt.

Westwood and Bales partnered up using the same themes: on Monday, We’re RED-y to be live drug free. Wear RED; Tuesday, We’re drug free from head to toe. Wear hats and/or crazy socks. The students are collecting adult hats and socks for the homeless; Let’s paint the world blue drug-free. Wear blue to the Home Town Heros pep rally; Walk Away From Drugs on Team up against drugs. Wear favorite team shirt or jersey and Friday’s Heroes Show your true colors drug-free. Wear something rainbow or costume.

At Windsong Intermediate, the week will begin on Monday with say YES to a healthy heart and body! Wear RED; Tuesday, is SOCK it to Drugs! Wear your crazy socks; Wednesday the students will be wearing hats for Hats off to a healthy me; I am too BRIGHT to do drugs Thursday and Friday TEAM up against drugs! Day. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey.

At Friendswood Junior High, Respect Yourself is the theme at FJH. Monday students are allowed to wear a Halloween Costumes. Tuesday, Life is a Journey Meant to Travel Drug Free! Tacky Tourist Tuesday! With Wildlife Wednesday; Thursday is Have the Power to Stay Drug Free! Dress as a Superhero. On Friday, Orange you Glad You Don’t Do Drugs! Dress in Tropical or Fruit Patterns.

At FHS, the students will follow the Character Pillars and have a character/color theme each day. Monday the students are encouraged to wear Red for Patriotism; Trustworthy Tuesday with Blue as the color of the day; Respect Yourself on Wednesday by wearing Yellow; Be A good Citizen Thursday by sporting Purple and Responsibility Red will be worn Friday.  MORE …
