Culinary Field Trip to Kona Grill

Culinary Arts students were invited to visit Kona Grill Restaurant at Baybrook Mall to learn about the art of sushi making.  Managers explained the history of Kona Grill and gave a behind the scenes tour of the restaurant and kitchen. 

Chefs at Kona Grill demonstrated different types of sushi, knife skills, plating and equipment used in the restaurant.  Students used this information to prepare the different types of sushi and plated their handmade sushi rolls.

Students also learned about  proper etiquette when eating sushi and had the opportunity to try some foods on the Kona Grill menu. It was an awesome experience for the students.
