Wranglerettes compete at Crowd Pleasers contest

On Saturday, February 18, 2017, the Friendswood Wranglerettes attended their first competition of the season, Crowd Pleasers’ Houston Senior Showcase.

At the end of the night, the Wranglerettes came home with plaques for 1st Runner-Up Best in Class for Team Jazz, Team Kick and Team Pom along with Best in Class for Team Contemporary and Team Hip Hop.  They were named 1st Runner-Up Extra Large Team and 3rd Runner-Up over all; receiving trophies for Super Sweepstakes and Showcase Elite.

The Social Officers won their division and the Dream Ensemble was named 1st Runner-Up Medium Ensemble.

The Dance Officers won 1st Runner-Up Best in Class, Officer Lyrical and Officer Open and were named Best in Class for Officer Jazz and Officer Prop.

The Dance Officers were 1st Runner-Up Extra Large Team Officers and received trophies for Super Sweepstakes and Showcase Elite.

Eleven of the team’s soloists placed in their divisions.  In the 9th/10th grade division: 7th Runner-Up Payton Montemayor (solo #2), 4th Runner-Up Emily Epperson, 2nd Runner-Up Madeline Klump, 1st Runner-Up Caroline Velek and the solo winner was Payton Montemayor (solo #1).

For the 11th grade division: 5th Runner-Up Makenna Schneider and the winner was Courtney Banfield.

In the 12th grade division: 7th Runner-Up Stephanie Reynolds, 5th Runner-Up Claire Owens, 3rd Runner-Up Stephanie Brown, 2nd Runner-Up Haley Weger, and the solo winner was Isabelle Naylor.

The Wranglerettes will attend Crowd Pleasers Texas Showcase of Champions, their state competition at Cy-Ranch High School on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
