Winning four (out ouf the 16) Categories Tommy Tune awards last night before a sold out house at The Hobby Center.
And the Tommy Tune goes to:
• Best Set Design
• Best Scenic Lighting
• Best Ensemble
The most thrilling for us as an ensemble was the moment that Janwin Overstreet-Goode won The Tommy Tune award for Best Musical Direction. A thrilling way to send her off as she is due to retire in May 2017. This will be Mrs. Goode’s second Tommy Tune Award for her Musical Direction.
Alex Rudd was a Tommy Tune Award $1,000 scholarship recipient.
The ensemble closed Act I with One Day More which ended in a complete standing ovation in a room of over 3,000 patrons.
“Our Actors stood out in their medleys with the other actors on stage, and the Directors and I could not be more proud to have been a part of this journey,” said Director Kathy Powdrell.
Please congratulate Mrs. Goode, Mr. Sanchez, Mrs. Goza and Mr. Borne as well as Pepper Smith, Amy Thornton, Michael Tyer and Katelyn Gallagher. This is a dedicated hard-working team dedicated to the FHS Musical Tradition.
