If you are interested in a future in any healthcare field, then the Sports Medicine Program at Friendswood High school may be just the place for you. As a Student Athletic Trainer you would assist the adult Athletic Trainers in keeping the athletes healthy and in their game.

You’ll learn about different injuries and how they are treated. Some examples of the types of injuries you might see are:
• Ankle injuries
• Knee injuries
• Shoulder injuries
• Broken bones
• Basic wound care

No matter what grade you are in, what sport you play, or what other school activity you are a part of, we can still find you a place in our program. Be sure to come pick up a Student Athletic Trainer Questionnaire and let us see what we can do to make you a part of the Sports Medicine Team.

As a member of the Sports Medicine Team, you will have an opportunity to cover games with many of our athletes. Some examples of the different types of teams that you will cover are:

Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling, Soccer, Baseball, Softball

We also will see those students that participate in Cross Country, Tennis, Swimming, Track, Golf, Lacrosse, Band, Wranglerettes, and Cheerleading whenever they may have an injury.

As a Student Athletic Trainer you will:

– earn a letter jacket
– get experience in a healthcare field
– gain sports medicine knowledge
– be a member of the sports medicine team
Do you like the healthcare field?

Are you a hard worker?

Do you like learning about injuries?
