Allie Hansen, Friendswood High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Villanova University. She was named captain of both the swimming and water polo teams during both junior and senior years, led swim team to a 3rd place finish at the 5A state meet as a 1st-team all-state swimmer (2019), school record holder in the 4x100 freestyle relay (2019), 1st team All-district and 1st team All-region honoree for water polo (2017-2019). Hansen is also a drum major for the marching band, a member of the Wind Ensemble, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society and National Tri-Music Honor Society. Hansen was joined at the signing by her parents Chris Hansen and Sheri Blossom, sister Nickie and coaches Jeff Otten and Craig Sikkema.

Jacob Badough, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Salem University. Badough was joined by his parents Chrissy and David Hopper and coaches Jeff Otten and Craig Sikkema.

Joe Sloan, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Baylor University. Sloan was joined by his coaches Jeff Otten and Craig Sikkema.

Vincent Gangitano, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Texas A&M University. He was a team captain for 2018-2019 and was voted most improved player in 2017-2018. Gangitano is also a member of the National Honor Society. He was joined by his parents Tony and Angie Gangitano and coaches Jeff Otten and Craig Sikkema.

Joshua Haffelder, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Texas A&M University. He was a 2018-19 Captain for swim and water polo, State qualifier for swim and water polo, 1st team all-district for water polo and 1st team all-region for water polo. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. Haffelder was joined by his father Steve Haffelder and coaches Jeff Otten and Craig Sikkema.

Michelle Danley, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play water polo for Grove City College. Danley was named 2nd-Team All-District (2018), 3rd-Team All-Region (2018), 1st Team All-District (2019), Most Improved Water Polo Player (2017) and USAWP Academic All American. She was also a member of the Best Friends Club, National Technical Honor Society, National English Honor Society and HOSA. Danley was joined by her parents Becky and Dann Danley, brother Logan and coaches Jeff Otten and Craig Sikkema.

Lily Ellis, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to dive for New Mexico State. She was named to the TISCA all district team, TISCA all region team, TISCA All-State team and was an Academic All-American. She is also the vice president of the FHS Choir. Ellis was joined by her parents Patricia Carrens and Glenn Ellis, and coaches Craig Sikkema and Monica Whitsett.

Race Haas, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play tennis for the University of St. Thomas in Houston. Hass was a team captain and a state qualifier. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Haas was joined by his parents Karl and Tara Hass, and coaches David Cook and Brittney Campbell.

Mathew Furh, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play tennis for East Texas Baptist University. Furh was the Freshman MVP during his first year on the team. He was joined by his parents Rick and Liticia Fuhr and coaches David Cook and Brittney Campbell.

Renyck Robertson, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Southwestern University. During his year with FHS, he received Honorable Mention All-District (2018-19), Before he transferred from Yokota High School, Robertson earned the following honors: All Far East (2016-17 and 2017-18), All Kanto Plains (2016-17 and 2017-18), DODEA Pacific (Department of Defense Education Activity) All Tournament Team (2017-18), American School in Japan All-Tournament Team (2016-17 and 2017-2018), Top 10 East Asia Elite (2017-2018). Robertson was joined by his parents Sean and Rebecca Robertson, brother Keagan, grandmother Mary Scott and coach Caleb Marburger.

Michael Hermes, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to run track and field for the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Houston Touchdown Club Athlete Scholar Finalist, Houston Chronicle Male Athlete of the Week, First-Team All-County and All-District for football, 1st team Academic All-State, two-time State track and field meet qualifier and “Inside HS Sports” Chevy MVP for football. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and HOSA. Hermes is also in the top ten of his graduating class. He was joined by his parents Mal and Ava Hermes, sister Claire and coach Bruce Bolden.

Manny Elizondo, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to wrestle for Oklahoma State University. His honors include: Most Outstanding Freshman Wrestler, UIL District Wrestling Champion (2015-16), Most Outstanding Sophomore Wrestler, FISD Celebration of Excellence Award (2016-17), Most Outstanding Junior Wrestler, Most Outstanding Senior Wrestler, UIL District Wrestling Champion (2018-19), UIL Regional Wrestling Champion (2018-19), UIL State Wrestling Champion (2018-19) and FISD Celebration of Excellence Award (2018-19).

Elizondo was joined by his parents Manuel and Lily Elizondo, grandmother Cathy Elizondo, BJJ Professor Ed Ramos and wife Elisangela Ramos and coaches Chris Reed, Joe Forsman, Chris Myers and Matthew Byrd.

Elizabeth Higgins, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play softball for Alvin Community College. Higgens won 2018 All-District Honorable Mention and 2018 FHS Offensive Player of the Year. She is also a member of PALS. Higgins was joined by her mother Kristy Higgins, sister Morganand coaches Christa Yates, Kevin Parr and Corey Truman.

Russell Langston, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for Elmhurst College. He was a senior captain and named MVP. Langston was joined by his father Eddie and coach TJ Benson.

Brady Buffington, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for Florida Tech. He earned All-District Honor Mention (2017-18), Team MVP 2018 and captain (2018-19). He is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Club. Buffington was joined by his parents Stephan and Celene Buffington, brothers Ty and Toby Buffington, brother Shannon Beazley, and coach TJ Benson.

Jake Sansom, FHS senior, signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for Florida Tech. He was voted Varsity Most Inspirational Player in 2015. Sansom is also a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and eSports Club. Sansom was joined by his parents Marc and Tonya Sansom, brother Alex and coach TJ Benson.
