FHS BBB Logo“Over the break the Boys in Blue battled some great teams from around the Houston area.  On the final day of the semester, the boys defeated Strake Jesuit 49-45 to go 10-5 heading into the much needed vacation.  After getting hit with the flu/strep bug, the boys went 1-3 in the Eric Medina Classic.  The Mustangs opened the tournament with a victory over Westside. The boys lost to Spring, Pearland, and Cy Woods in the Silver Bracket 3rd Place Game.  The loss to Spring was the first double digit loss of 2019 for the Stangs.  The Mustangs finished the non-district schedule with an 11-8 record, with all 8 losses coming against 6A teams.

This past Friday, the boys got the 22-5A District play started with an opening game loss to defending champions Texas City.  After keeping it close all game, the Mustangs fell 49-32.  In a new twist to the rivalry, Texas City decided to stall and make the Mustangs play long stretches of defense for much of the game.  The sub-varsity teams all won to move to (1-0) in district play.  We kick off our home district opener against Santa Fe tonight, 1/7/20, at 4:30/6/7:30.”
