4/19/2020: Letter to Parents from Mark Griffon

WebmasterHigh School News

“Dear Mustang Families,
As we close in on a month of school buildings being closed, a special shout out to FISD students.  Kids have had to adapt to a new delivery of instruction/learning and new uncertainty.  They are missing friends, routines, teachers and normalcy. Hang in there; we are missing them too!!

This situation is impacting us all in different ways; however, structure and connections with classmates and teachers help to maintain normalcy. Learning opportunities are being provided every week to provide structure and connections. Student participation in these learning opportunities is necessary for course completion and for application of the grading guidelines. The established grading guidelines speak to the importance of student commitment.  Grading guidelines can be found at https://myfisd.com/covid-19/ OR Griffon Parent Letter dated 4/12/2020.

Current progress reports are available in Skyward Student Portfolio.  Missing assignments will be calculated as zeros beginning April 20 in order to provide an accurate reflection of a student’s progress. Every effort is being made to connect with students. Remember students must engage and complete their 4th 9-week assignments at a high level if they want to use their 3rd 9-week grade as a replacement, otherwise they will receive an incomplete for the 4th 9-weeks. We urge you to reach out to your student’s teachers for any needed assistance.

Thank you, Parents, for being an integral piece of this uncharted journey!  By working together, FISD students will succeed! Stay safe, stay strong and stay positive!
