“Dear Mustang Families,
I want to again thank you for all your support during this corona crisis. Because of your support, FHS has been able to complete our Distance Learning Program with success. We are heading into the last week of school. The key focus this week is for students to complete any missing assignments for the 4th 9-weeks. Our teachers are not assigning any new assignments this week; they are just working with our students to turn in any missing assignments. Please work with us to motivate your students to engage and take advantage of this last opportunity to complete their work.

We know this has been a challenging year for students and parents. Remember, in order for your student to use their 3rd 9-week grade as a replacement, they must use this last week to complete their 4th 9-week assignments; otherwise, they will receive an incomplete for the 4th 9-weeks, and they will have to attend summer school session 2. Please share this information with your student so they can use this last week to make-up their work and finish this year strong.

I would like to share a quote from FHS teaching legend Pepper Smith who will retire from teaching English after 50 years of service. She said, “I call all my students my kids after I teach them; they aren’t just students on my class roster. They all become a part of my heart.”  The end of this year brings this unbelievable journey to an end, but I hope all parents know that our hearts go out to our students.  We appreciate all of the hard work that our students displayed during this new distance learning program. This dedication and our tradition of excellence made this program a success. Thanks again for your support, and we hope everyone has a great summer. Stay safe, stay strong and stay positive!
